Prior to acting, Shannon attended Triton College and Illinois State University, graduating with honors and her Associate in Arts Degree. She then went on to receive her cosmetology license and decided to move out to California on her own in 2004. After graduating from the Master Program at Make-Up Designory, she began building her make-up resume in the industry.
Working on numerous sets and shoots as a make-up artist, she still had thoughts in her mind of acting. Shannon joined SAG in 2007. Her resume includes training at Upright Citizens Brigade and with Kip King for Improv, Scene Study at Santa Monica College, the Australian Institute of Dramatic Arts as well as various other classes/workshops. She loves to get involved with many different industry related groups as well. Aside from volunteering quite often at the SAG Foundation, she was part of the Young Storytellers program, attended Women In Film events and networking events. "I love the world of performing and I am trying to learn everything that I can about it".
After gaining a great deal of experience, she decided to move home to be closer to her family in 2010. About a week before departing LA, Shannon was a contestant on the well known show, 'The Price Is Right' and ended up spinning a dollar on the wheel and winning the Showcase Showdown! Her most recent project is in a 6 part web series called 'What Did Clyde Hide', which is currently in post-production. She plays Delilah Lyn Youngheart. Prior to that, she was a co-host on a pilot called 'In Search of the Great American Street Musician'. She also does voiceover.
In between acting, Shannon works as a promotional model, brand ambassador, spokesmodel and narrator. She also continues to work as a Professional Make-Up Artist and maintains her esthetics and cosmetology licenses. She is the Co-Chair of PR & Marketing on the Board for the Chicago Acting in Film Meetup Group.

"To whom it may concern:
I am delighted to have the opportunity to provide a reference for Shannon Novak who was hired by PBJS as a Brand Ambassador/Photographer for the Santa’s House in the winter of 2011.
** sponsored a month long activation of Santa’s House in the heart of Chicago's Daley Plaza. Santa’s House invited families and children to tour Santa’s home and have their picture taken with Santa, free of charge. Over the course of the month, Santa’s House had thousands of visitors, over 12,000 of which had their photo taken by Shannon.
PBJS is full-service marketing and events firm for a variety of corporate brands. As a producer at PBJS, I had the opportunity to directly interview, hire, and engage in the work ethic, progress and development of Shannon. Selecting her for our program was an excellent decision, as she was dependable, professional and hard working at all times.
Shannon’s work ethic, along with her ability to communicate effectively made her especially successful while dealing with consumers in a variety of situations. She worked for a month straight without ever complaining of the long hours and tiring days. Shannon was extremely communicative with me, making sure I was fully informed on anything and everything that was taking place in the event space. No matter how crowded the space became or how dysfunctional the technical equipment was, Shannon was able approach every situation with ease, making sure that everyone was happy at the end of the day. I felt extremely comfortable with Shannon as a representative of PBJS and a brand ambassador for **.
I believe that Shannon would be an ideal candidate for employment with any company. Thank you.
